Welcome to my humble, home worthy traveller.

I have finally finished the Sinister Eyes Story. All changes that may still be made will only be fine tuning of the language. I have also slightly changed the design touse larger Symbols for the Places to go (back) to and reduced the contact button to a simple (non machine readable) e-mail button.
I have completely redesigned the Interface and index structure, finally leaving behind the old-fashioned style of the previous incarnation, but unfortunately this requires massive amounts of JavaScript to work, which means, people who have that turned off are out of luck. I have also removed the links as their own section and made my small link page an article in the central area, introducing a new area for my campaign world of Sak Dakyb. I will no longer list updates of the film reviews section on the central front page. That area is in a different langauge (German) and does now have its own news and news archive.
The site has moved to a new host, but I will keep the old one online for some time as a static resource, but only this version will be updated any longer. Some areas of the site may yet look a bit strange, because I did not have yet the time to update all documents to use the new style sheets. It may still take some time, until everything looks the way it used to, after all this site is rather large (about 150 unique documents). So far only the central area and the The Beheaded Fiend Inn Area are guarnteed to work.
Additionally there is a new film review. This time it is "Crank," a mostly fun small action film, showing it is still possible to make good action without a huge budget. If the action was choreographed better and the Film would have a less problematic view of Women, it could have been (almost) good.
Finally I have managed to do an update on time, roughly one month after the previous one. I have to admit, that it is a rather small update with only two new film reviews. The first is my personal disappointment of this cinema summer, "Superman Returns," a grey in grey would be tear-driver, killing every emotion by stretching it too far and delivering too little story for its length. The last problem is shared by the second film I reviewed for this month, "Miami Vice." Even the atmospheric intensity Michael Mann is capable of creating cannot fully compensate for the thin script and the unsatisfying ending. The rest is dense and intense, except for a few unnecessarily lengthy scenes in the first half of the film.
It has been a long time since my last update. I always wanted to add something creative, besides just posting new film reviews, but somehow I have not written anything I want to publish on my site in the last several months. There is nor a whole bunch of new Reviews, starting with the disappointing "M-I III," which annoys with wasting all its good action scenes in the first half and a villain, I just failed to believe. Next ist "Asterix and the Wikings," which is the best Asterix Film in quite some time, even though it does not compare to the best, or the comic it is based on. "X-Men 3: The Last Stand," is not as good as the previous Films, but still a good FX-Action Film, leaving itself sufficient time for its story and characters, which unfortunately not all action films do nowadays.
Calling "Ultraviolet," a disappointment is not exactly to the Point. I knew it was a weak film, before watching it, but then there are bad films, which are still some fun, and then there are Bad films, which are just annoying. This one unfortunately belongs into the second category. Martial arts-wise, "Revenge of the Warrior," (Tom Yoong Gung), known as "The Protector" in North America, is the exact opposite. Very real Martial Arts without string and computer support, embedded into a thin, but understandable, story. Definitely a good Film for martial arts fans.
"Over The Hedge," was a fun Film, but not as great, as reviews and recommendation of friends would make it. Finally, "Pirates Of The Carribean: Dead Man's Chest," also left a somewhat split feeling. On the one Hand it is technically brilliant, as to be expected from a Bruckheimer production of this size, including great action scenes, good gags and billiant VFX. On the other hand, the story is, again, loaded with too many side-threads, making it hard to follow anyone, or to like any of the characters.
There is a new film review. of the mostly funny "Ice Age 2," which is not as good as the first part, some technical changes to the Mists Of The Void. area of the page, particularly the documents Magic Items, Space Combat and Ship Design and a new chapter, of the "Song of Jean and Jonathan," which is called "Port Of Adventure," the beginning of which you can read below. Actually it had been uploaded before, but (fortunately) it was not linked. I had to complete rewrite it to make it readable.
The Bird of Prey flew into the eye of a large asteroid carven to resemble a human skull, as part of a long line of ships. Almost as many vessels left Skullport through the other eye. Jean, who was standing on the Forecastle with her partner, the mage Jon, was worried. "It may be difficult to get good crew here, when the port is as busy as it seems," the woman said. "What do your eyes see?" he asked, knowing there was something she did not tell. A blue flag with five gems, one black, one green, one white, one red and one blue, arranged in a circle around a yellow sun flies from all masts in the port I can see," she said. "The flag of the alliance of the five homeworlds," Jon said.
"Things seem to be more serious than even I thought. I see many ships equipped for war, but I doubt finding a crew will be difficult. Did you know Skullport was founded by a pirate from Unida only three generations ago? I wonder how he managed to create an asteroid matrix." Jean considered this for time. The item mentioned was necessary to give a dead piece of rock floating in space a breathable atmosphere. Only the Royal Academy of Unida was capable of producing them with any reliability. "He probably stole it from the academy, or one of their first transports to Oz'Nihead," she said.
